Re: Fanart Handler Plugin v1.0 (and music fanart scraper)

    Hello all,

I have installed the plugin on two computers, on my laptop with a limited music collection to test it and it works just fine, however on my HTPC, with a twice bigger collection (1200 artists, of which around 300 are initialised in the Fanart database) I am experiencing high CPU usage and the plugin just stops working.

It turns out that disabling the option "Enable Automatic Download of Music Fanart For Artists Now Being Played" fixes this problem. It doesn't matter for me because I let Fanart Handler download artists using the MP database, which is up to date.

Not sure if this is a problem with the size of the DB but I thought I'd mention it.

ALSO there seems to be a problem with single quotes in artist names: Destiny's Child is correctly downloaded but not displayed by the plugin.

    Cheers

    Jean-Marc

    Hi ysmp,

Very nice collection but as 2BitSculptor say. The name should be without the trailing numbers according to htbackdrop naming. If possible you should change on htbackdrops.

    best regards

just to repeat myself (from an earlier edit)

Registered users of HTBackdrops can edit or delete their own submissions.

    - Go to HTBackdrops
    - make sure you're signed in
    - find an image you submitted.
    - click on your name (in parentheses)
    - select view all images submitted by you
    - select an image to edit/delete (I usually open it in another tab so I don't lose my spot)
    - under the image there are options to edit or delete the image.

    Best regards,

    Chuck

AW: Fanart Handler Plugin v1.0 (and music fanart scraper)

i'm a little bit confused - why is this an MP plugin and not a server plugin? And what happens if i configure all my clients with this plugin - but they share their databases?

    Hi disaster123,

Thank you for your question. The plugin not only scrapes fanart but provides the images to the MP client thus needs access to the MP client. To implement a client/server solution like TVServer and the TVclient would be far to much work for me right now ;) About your question with several clients sharing the same database... haven't tested it and it will probably create problems when concurrent clients tries to write to the SQLite database, I will see if I can move towards a client/server architectur in the future where clients can request for example now playing scrapes but this will not be in the near future.

    best regards

Re: Fanart Handler Plugin v1.0 (and music fanart scraper)

i don't seem to getting fanart - my log is essentially the same as the one posted by 'treponem' in that it's reporting "no such table" many times over.

Try reinstalling it. When you reinstall you have to manually delete the appdata/team mediaportal/mediaportal/thumbs/skinfanart directory. I had a problem earlier, I deleted the database and reinstalled the plugin, I still had problems, It seems that it was only after i deleted both the database and the skinfanart folder and then re-run the MPEI installer did it fix my problems.

thanks for the feedback - i tried using the uninstall option, but the log reported the same issue (no such table), and i also deleted the db3 file, and the skin fanart directory, and then reinstalled, but i am still getting the "no such table" error in the log... the db3 file is actually 0 bytes - i would've thought the structure alone would mean it had to be a few KB...?

    cheers,

    dh.

I'm not sure what was in my log, however i did have the problem with 0 file size database. It came right if i deleted the database, the process plugin, and removed all the fanart folders, then reran the installer.

i've removed everything once more, and reinstalled, but again the db3 is 0 bytes, and the "no such table" error continues...

i'm running MP 1.0.2 on XP Vista Ultimate 64 bit is anyone else running this combo successfully with fanart?

    cheers,

    dh.

    Hi dihoff,

    Your problem is a security problem, see this line in your log;
System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Database\FanartHandler.org' is denied.

I'm not sure why MP cannot access that file on your computer. Must be some restrictions that you need to fix. Sorry for able to be more specific.

    If everything else fails do this;
    1. delete the fanarthandler.db3
    2. delete the fanarthandler.org
    3. delete the fanarthandler.dll
    4. install the MPI file
    5. Before starting MP or MP Configuration rename the fanarthandler.org to fanarthandler.db3

    best regards
