Hello,

for first - I am sorry that I am not attaching log from MediaPortal, presently I don´t have access to this computer, but if neccessary, I will post it later.

I have HTPC with basic Realtek audio connected via optic cable to home theatre decoder. In ffdshow I have switched on DTS audio. When I am playing movies with 6 channel audio (DTS), everything works great, but when I try movie with 8 channel audio, movie will not start playing. If I uncheck DTS in ffdshow properties, it works, but only with Dolby Digital sound.

So my question - what I need to set (what, where?) to be able to play 8 channel audio with DTS through optical cable.

Thank you very much for your advice

    Hi..

I think you should first explain more about your problems, your system, and what kind of movie, format and such... And probably read some specs for DTS :)

    DTS (sound system)

For what it seems for me, you try to send DTS-hd over spdif... standard DTS don't support 8 channels..

in addition to above spdif (optical) doesn't supoprt DTS-HD as it doesn't have enough bandwidth, you have to use HDMI for DTS-HD

Have you tried enabling the ffdshow mixer to mix down to 5.1?
