I recentlly uninstalled ffdshow and installed the latest tryout (05/11/08). I configured my usual settings, then set ffdshow as my default codec for TV, DVDs and movies. I loaded MP and selected My TV. The first channel loaded ok, however if I change channels the picture freezes and MP crashes.

The error log shows "unable to connection to graph - ffdshow video decoder" (or something close to that).

i uninstalled the latest ffdshow tryout, rebooted and installed my previous working version. But same problem.

I was using PowerDVD 8 Ultra video codec and have switched back to it now. I am still using the ffdshow audio codec without problems. Its just if I use the video codec I have problems.

FFDShow is not allowed as a mpeg2 codec, it caused too many problems.

If you search the internet, no one raves about ffdshows mpeg2 abilities, but it is good for postprocessing.
