first of all, what a great plugin. you have probably been asked this before, if so im sorry to repeat it.
the question is, is it possible to put a series of films in one folder. such as rocky 1-6.
im only asking because iv'e got about 20 abbott and costello films all over the shop. it would be great to have them all under the heading abbott and costello with the 20 films inside the folder. to keep them altogether.

If you use imdb+ scrapper it will auto sort movie series, use search.

I just released a mass-update on the IMDb+ rename database to group movie series together (by renaming the title), but did not have any Abbott and Costello movies in the list.

Only real series, such as Rocky 1-6, StarWars 1-6 and alike will be dealt with via the default rename system, but you can add custom rename entries as well, so you can group all your movies together if you want by adding your own entries for them. I guess your goal is to group all the movies you have that 'star' Abbott @ Bud Abbott's filmograph.

It should be easy for you to add them in anyway you like, but if you need help, ask for it in the IMDb+ thread (link in my signature).

However, instead of renaming the title for the Abbott and Costello movies, you could also make use of the MovPic category and filtering system. You can then simply make an "Abbott & Costello" category and filter based on 'Actors'. That way MovPic will auto group the movies matching the filter rules. You can use this alongside IMDb+ rename system as well.

unable to use imdb scraper as it needs MP v1.21 to work. im still using v1.13 because im having problems with the newer version, keeps freezing then shutting down.

Have you reported your problems? Honestly, 1.2.1 is the most stable yet for most users, so I am sure that someone will be able to help.

Technically the IMDb+ scraper-script will work on MediaPortal v1.1.x, you just need to install and adjust it all manually. Last week I released 8 new versions to fix problems, but the current version v4.1.4 should be good for weeks if not months. If you want I can explain in steps what is needed to manually install it. The IMDb+ plugin allows you to adjust things manually and updates the scraper-script automatic when new versions are released. But let me know and I can prep a v1.1.x scraper-script version for you.

But if you show us where you posted those logs, maybe somebody can help you figure the problem out. Did you ever tested a clean MediaPortal v1.2.x installation? Because if you tried to restore anything you had from your v1.1.x install then yes, you will get issues. Some things you can indeed copy over, but you have to pay attention.

these are the log files i posted on another thread. i believe that when i installed mp1.2 i didnt do a fresh install. i just downloaded 1.2 and updated the plugins and skins
