1gkar, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this thread. Thank you so much for your above information. I have been using MediaPortal for about two years now since I was converted from Windows Media Centre (easily I might add). Also living in New Zealand I have always had massive codec issues. I've tried all the major codec packs (CCCP, K-Lite, XP Codec Pack) followed the various guides and instructions from these forums and each time using a fresh build. I've always had issues with audio being out of sync and I have never been able to get both TV and HD files working properly without compromising the other. Until now . . . . :D Your codec instructions work a treat! I followed them and I now have perfect TV, HD and standard file playback. My TV is a 46" Sony full HD LCD connected through HDMI so any imperfections are really obvious and there are none. The audio is also in sync and crystal clear as I am passing it via opticle SPDIF to a sony decoder. I recommend any other fellow Kiwi's to use these instructions if, like I was, you're having issues with getting your codecs right for TV. I started with a fresh build. :thx: Val,
