FIXED - MediaPortal missing quarz.dll (2 Viewers)

I get every time suprise after installing new MP version

First the isntaller install the tv server, but i select the singleseat mode...i need every time uninstall the tv server

But the main problem now after i start the configuration and i make tv channel scan i dont see the channels, after i start the mediaportal i get warning and same no picture effect.

old version mediaportal dont have this error...

i have see the quartz dll update but this is only good to english versions Windows XP

Hi
"Single Seat Mode" means "server and client on 1 machine"; and if you use this, you should not uninstall the server.

So what you mean, is the installation with the "old" TvEngine2 which is built in instead of a TV client.

But I would recommend to use the server/client configuration.

I believe the best what you can doo is install SP3 - this will install quartz.dll version 6.5.2600.3367...

Please, I have the same problem. I can't install the SP3 Xp and can't install the fix of the wiki. Could it be possible to hide the message "quartz.dll error - Your version 6.5.2600.2180 of quartz.dll has too many bugs!" while MP initiates? It would be a provisional solution for me until i could install SP3 (Now MP works in my PC)

After this fixing you get another error in my opinion, black screen with no sound in my tv. Use not this idiot wiki, this is only to english version windows, and these is only direct links to another microsoft site. Google is your best frend, and use it to search to your language sp3.

So do you still have the blank screen problem? I also had weird problems with quartz.dll and blank screen.

I registered long time here and i have tester level in this forum, but now in 2008 this is not new for me. After installing new version i get error

First time i need not uninstall this mp server utility to use my tv card but now... i dont know how many user use the server feature, in my opinion 80% want only use the tv tuner, not server. This big mega server-tv-tuner-mediaplayer have more error as the single old version.

Solution: back to the MediaPortal 0.2.3.0

I have always thought that the server should have been named to something else as lot of people make their decissions based on the first brief look... just like how people are rated based on their apperances not the knowlegde or any other skills they poses

...TVE3 is a victim of its name...
