Just changed my router from a G to N model now MP hangs for ages at loading plugins then disappears and takes my cursor with it, The only way out is alt-ctrl-del then kill it.
I've changed the TV server IP address in MP config and channel preview works fine in TV config, The first few lines of the error log moan that the MYsql database cant be found (at the old address). Is it possible to change this or do I need to do a full reinstall.

Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply......Server name is the old one, Right click on it shows correct IP
Also first few lines of the error log show this:

2012-10-11 10:55:49.843000 [ERROR][MPMain(1)]: Exception while loading GUIWindows instances: TvPlugin.Radio
2012-10-11 10:55:49.843000 [ERROR][MPMain(1)]: The database backend (provider MySQL) could not be reached.
Check the connection string: Server=192.168.2.100;Database=MpTvDb;User ID=root;Password=password;charset=utf8;Connection Timeout=30;

Server=192.168.2.100 is incorrect, Thats the old IP, The new one is 192.168.1.100, How do I change this?.

Regards.

    You are connecting over WLAN?

    What does the signal strenght on the HTPC say? The higher the bandwidth -> the lower the coverage.
    Also don't use IP's but hostnames instead.

    Connecting over LAN, Just tried the DB config as suggested by Vasilich, IP address is correct and no problem with the connection test. I'll try changing to hostnames now and see if that helps.....I dont understand why the error log is still referencing the old IP.

    I had already changed the IP in MP config to 192.168.1.100, Right click on the server in TV config shows this address is used.
    Still getting:

    2012-10-11 13:47:07.448800 [ERROR][MPMain(1)]: Exception while loading GUIWindows instances: TvPlugin.Radio
    2012-10-11 13:47:07.448800 [ERROR][MPMain(1)]: The database backend (provider MySQL) could not be reached.
    Check the connection string: Server=192.168.2.100;Database=MpTvDb;User ID=root;Password=password;charset=utf8;Connection Timeout=30

    It's still attempting to connect to 192.168.2.100 but everything is set up right in config as far as I am aware.

    On the server:
    1. start -> run -> services.msc -> stop the tv-server windows service
    2. open the gentle.config in C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server
    3. search for "192.168.2.100"
    4. replace the IP with the hostname of the server i.e. "MyServer" - don't know which hostname it has ;)
    5. save the gentle.config
    6. start the tv-service
    On the Client:
    1. open the gentle.config in C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal
    2. search for "192.168.2.100"
    3. replace the IP with the hostname of the server i.e. "MyServer" - don't know which hostname it has ;)
    4. save the gentle.config
    5. open MediaPortal.xml in the same folder
    6. search for <section name="tvservice"> and in the next line under "hostname" make sure the hostname of the server is filled in

    Have you tried to restart server and client after iloop's advices?
    after restart search all files in C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\ for old IP string
