Ok, so I am on the safe side, that my hardware setup is working (ok, DVBViewer is working like a charm, so it would be paranoid to think that there is problem with the hardware).

I love this piece of software, but something seems to be broken.

Maybe a problem that the sat cable is connected to a multi-user-installation?
See attached image with working DVBViewer channel scan properties

support, Developers: more log files or info required ?

Thanx

In your first pictures it looks like you selected the wrong satelite (astra Hd).

Just to be sure, you did try to scan the Astra 1c /1e/1f/1g/1h/2c (19.2"e) also ?

Because thats where just about every channel should be on this satelite, including zdf, rtl world, pro7 sat1, orf etc.

Yes, i performed a scan for Astra 1c /1e/1f/1g/1h/2c (19.2"e) too.
Scan runs und runs, but no channels found!

Thinking and thinking about it, I have now idea what is going wrong here, but I hope the problem is reproducible, as many others seem to have the same issues.

DVBViewer's scan seems to work completely different to the one implemented in TVServer (FireDTV Viewer not discussed, as it uses parts of the DVBViewer-engine, thus it is obvious that there are no problems with it).

Hope the tv.log can help some developer to unravel the mystery...

I do not have any problems scanning with other software, for example FireDTV Viewer (DVBViewer), MCE 2005 or MCE Vista so there's no problem with my hardware either. I can even scan the channels in Mediaportal standalone correct, it's just the TV server that doesnt work. And even the TVserver works when I scan the Sirius satellite but not Thor where all my subscribde channels are. :-(

I wish I was a programmer and had some knowledge about satelliterecievingprogramming then I would love to help fixing this bug. :) If it's something anyone need from me, who maybe can fix this, I'll gladly give it to that person and help him/her as much as I can.

Hmm, as said before, something is broken...

chrispi or Nyria: Would it be possibly to send me your channel list for Astra 19.2 (export it from TVServer)? I would try to import it to verify if it is a scan or tuning problem with the card. If i can tune the channels, something must be broken with the scan...

:D

I have this exact same problem with my TechnoTrend S2-3200, "No Signal" on all transponders. I had just concluded that my card had gone defective, but before sending it in for repair I think I may try DVBViewer first now, see if that one works.

dvdfreak: I had the S2-3200 before and had a lot of "No Signal" problems. I think this is related to the TechnoTrend driver problems and not to Media Portal. This was the reason why I replaced the card with a FloppyDTV.

I don't think your problem is related to the issue discussed in this thread.

Ah OK, thanks, it looks very similar though. But did you have this problem from time to time on some transponders (because that behaviour I've seen myself a few times before)? Or did you have it all the time on all transponders, because that's what I have right now: my card is totally useless.
