This is just a thread about a problem I had, and fixed by myself. Since I searched first and found nobody else had this before I thought I post my solution in case somebody else have the same problem and search for it. No need to reply to this thread.

Problem: Your Arial.tff is corrupted, maybe during windows update (as happend for me during BSOD).
Solution: Download a new arial.tff and install it. Problem solved. (I found one on rapidshare, use your own way).
Again, no need to reply to this thread. Thanks for me.

I had this on a friends HTPC, I couldn't believe what I was seeing so of course didn't go straight for the arial.ttf file. Do you know how you caused it? We couldn't quite work that out.

I can't tell for sure since I at the same time had a BlueScreenOfDeath, updated Vista, unistalled a few programms, updated my nvidia card, mocked around with msconfig and services, lol. (Yeah, no wonder that the system would f*ck up).

So sorry, cant help you with that :) .

I had exactly the same problem on a Windows 7 installation. Reinstalling the arial fonts solved the problem. I have no idea how the font became corrupt in the first place.
