foobar does not work in Media Portal (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone,

I tried to configure MediaPortal to use foobar to play my music (flac) files instead of the bass player.

In the Media Portal Setup - Plugins section I enable the Foobar2000 Plugin.
Hereafter, I select "Configuration" by right-mouse clicking on the Foobar2000 icon
in the MediaPortal setup screen. Media Portal now comes with the following message:


Foobar2000 plugin error
Foobar2000 is not installed on your system!
Please install it first before actually trying to use this plugin!


However, I have foobar2000 installed on my system and it is working great.
Does anyone know how I get foobar2000 working with MediaPortal?

The reason I want to use foobar2000 is that I think the gapless playback in foobar2000 is
perfect in foobar2000. Gapless playback with the bass player I get the feeling that it is not
100 percent perfect.

most likely you're simply not using foobar 0.8.3 with the http control plugin (or it isn't enabled yet).

I am using foobar v0.9.4.4.

Does it only work with v0.8.3???
Where can I download this version? And whtat is the http control plugin?

I cannot find the information about this. Perhaps can you give me a http link.

Ok, I will try the old 2005 version of foobar.
But why does Media Portal not work with the latest version of foobar?

I believe that's because the http control plugin has not been updated in ages by his author and doesn't work with foobar 0.9.

However, I notice that there's seems to be the equivalent HTTP Plugin as the one above in 0.9. Is there any chance somone could make a MP plugin for foobar 0.9 using the HTTP remote controle plugin for foobar found here : http://foobar.daychanged.com/?

Don't know if it is the same but the link above no longer works. Recently a new HTTP control plugin for foobar has been released:
foobar2000: Components Repository - HTTP Control

I wanted to try it with mediaportal, but I can find a foobar plugin for MP. Can anybody help on this? If this has been depricated, is there a former source code available, so I have something to start with?

Yes plugin was removed as it was only working with some version of Foobar that was about 10 years old.

I'm not. I stopped using MP before spending time on development. Instead I use directly foobar. Regarding the remote control I started to use eventghost that has a working plugin for foobar.
