MacMini - the picture name is there? the selected picure in the screen grab is called "dock" (look in the bottom part of the screen)....

Oh, you're right, of course. I guess I was so smitten by the new layout, my brain went high and didn't register...:)

But what about the big "Shares" arrow on the left?

I am not sure if this is a core feature of MP, or there by choice of the skin authors. Plugins like my TV Series and My Films don't have it, but in every skin, there it is Pictures, as big as a photo thumbnail.

It seems that, since MP is a front end, most users view it on a TV screen, and most use some sort of a remote, presumably one with a "Back" button. I can actually see merit in having a "Back" button in the menu, but the arrow is a bit awkward and inconsistent across different modules.

I can also see why some would like to have the option to navigate across Shares (less so now with Watched folders,) but I wish there was an option to hide the arrow, and just enjoy a clean and consistent view of the pictures, or albums, or whatever media we are viewing.

Anyway, this may not be possible. I might also be overly sensitive, since I've finally changed to MP after 4 years with MCE (first XP and then Vista.)

But this skin is still one of very clean, well thought-out design. It is also my favorite and the one I use (although, I copied the MePo animated icons to it - the short, fat, green creature cheers me up - and it looks good and lives well in Foofaraw:).

Thanks to rsparey for spending the time and effort on such a great project.

Hi,
First of all this is a great skin and I love the way it looks. But unfortunately, as I'm using a CRT 32" TV, it gives me the same readability problems as all other skins I've seen so far. Text, especially IMDB-info and such, is simply way to small to be readable on something else than a crisp TFT-screen. Would it be possible to create some sort of text size option in the next version of Foofaraw? I'm aware of the limitations set by the size of buttons and so on but if at least the long texts could be made bigger it would make my life much better. :)

I have tried to change font sizes in fonts.xml but actually can't see any effects of my changes. If someone have any advice on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again for a great looking skin!

Hi Joel,
Thanks for the feed back, I guess in the future I could release a large text version of the skin, But this is still low on my priority list, as more and more users switch to HD displays..

When you change the font.xml make sure you delete the font cache files, then you should see the changes made in media portal.

regards

Hey Rsparey,

I've just seen your skin (have not tried it yet).. I've got 0.2.3.0RC2 with latest SVN, so I'm not sure it will work properly or not - will try it very soon anyway.. Loved the screenshots by you I've seen on this site, so I'm pretty sure I'll love the skin.. But I see that you're in the process of creating a new version.. Not sure if this is available in current version or whether you're planning it in the upcoming one, but I was wondering if it is possible to have fewer numbers of channels in TV Guide than in the basic MP wide screen. Basic MP screen (wide version) displays about 10-12 channels on the screen, but on my 32" LCD it's a bit too much if you want to watch the TV from few feet - hard to read and all that.. There was a skin, I remember, that had an option to choose number of channels in the guide during install of the skin (I've used it about a year ago or so).. So I was wondering if this could be incorporated into your skin somehow.. Hopefully I was clear enough in my explanation..

I would like to post foofaraw as an mpi, but first I need to resolve the issue of install fonts. Depending on when I finalise the next release (I'm pretty close now) Will depend on whether I release an mpi.. or a MSI. (It just depends on the issue of installing fonts.)

Hey Joel,

if you can find your "Flicker Free" settings in your video settings and set it to off (or close to off) then you may find that you text looks "crisper" on the crt. I can almost use windows the the flicker free turned down :)

cheers,

Trent
