i had some issues with the webaccess because i used it while the TV scheduler executes a sync, maybe you can lock interface while syncing (had this issue also with management console)

Can you explain the issues? Normally it should not be a big problem, unless perhaps programs disappear from the new data, so popups with program details suddenly no longer work (since the data is gone), was it stuff like that? I should add some more "safety checks" to places like that then.

i mean the webaccess was not working (internal server error - the event log had 3 every long error messages), In the management console i get sometimes the database error (concurrent access, changes by another user?), after a while this error not reported anymore

this often happens, if i use man. console or webaccess shortly after starting the TV server and while TV scheduler is syncing (CPU has high load because of that). I have around 250 tv channels in the tv server and most have epg data (ranging from a few hours to max 2 weeks).

Can you send me the errors by PM, then I'll have a look. One the one hand it's logical that browsing a TV Guide that is changing underneath is not going to work as expected, but it shouldn't crash so wildly

getting that errors with 0.15. i´m using the tvserver plkugins and my epg comes from clickfinder plugin ...
looking in the epg in MYTV there are EPG data till 10th of february but looking for the EPG in the tvscheduler management console i only have EPG till 9th of february.... a bug?

do you need some more information?

dvdfreak, thanks for your suggestions about the DVB-EPG and XMLTV syncing. As it turns out I only need the XMLTV now as I just checked and my TV Guide provider now covers all channels I require which is great !

On another point, I seem to have a problem with TVService.exe crashing when I enable the TVE3Plugin in MP Configuration and when I restart the processes. I've done a complete re-install of all MP components and TVScheduler lately as I wanted some of the newer SVN fixes. I was careful to delete all reminants before re-installing again and I've upgraded to the latest SVN for both MP & TVE3 - Revision 17195. I've seen the same results for the last couple of SVN's.

** Both TVScheduler service and TVService are started in Services.
1. I enable TVE3Plugin in MP TV Server configuration (all channels are mapped correctly as per you previous instructions before doing so)
2. I stop TVScheduler service, then stop TVService
3. I start TVService and it starts OK, then I start TVScheduler. When TVScheduler changes from state Starting to Started, TVService then crashes

The only error in the Event log is :

EventType clr20r3, P1 tvservice.exe, P2 1.0.0.17195, P3 479d553c, P4 tvscheduler.serviceagents, P5 1.0.15.0, P6 47979296, P7 24, P8 0, P9 system.nullreferenceexception, P10 NIL.

If I disable the TVE3Plugin Sync in MP TV Server Configuration and then restart the services they both start fine (and stay started).

Do you think this is a bug with the latest TVE3 SVN's or is it something that your plugin is doing ?

Hmmm, I guess it's possible "something" changed in TVE3 which makes my plugin crash I will have a look as soon as I have some time. Is there something to be found in the TVE3 error log?

It's very unfortunate that there's no way to do a clean TVE3 api check, when stuff changes underneath you're usually just screwed I'll update everything to the latest SVN and see what I can find...

I have only recently adopted the TvScheduler and already love it. One thing is not clear to me yet. What do I need to update if I want to install a newer version ? Do I need to reinstall all packages ?

Maybe you could modify your first post to reflect this information ?

Yes, typically everything needs to be updated. There is an API version check in all components, but since the product is still evolving a lot, usually the API version is incremented on a new release.

In future this will become less and less, and then you could for example keep using the same TVE3 plugin, or Web Access, even though you update the service itself.

But for now, upgrade everything.

What you posted is from the TVE3 logs normally, right? Can you check the system's event-log with eventvwr.exe?
