Thanks for double-checking this! I'm a bit stumped though, since I tested this both on IE7 and FireFox and it works fine for me. Since I am testing this on the built-in webserver of Visual Studio I'm starting to think it is related to that... I'll try to debug on IIS itself.

Have you had time to consider my suggestion to export/import the rules as an xml-file or similar? It would be very handy when debugging and when moving TV3E from one PC to another.

It's still on my list, but haven't gotten around to it unfortunately...

No it's "your" login screen that keeps coming back. But yeah, I have to log in if I just want to "go right" in the program guide

Then it sounds like your IIS is not keeping its session. This is the most likely reason it "forgets" you are logged in.

BTW, can one use different passwords for the web access and the. hm. one doesn't use a password anywhere else, now does one? What is the password I supplied during the install used for? And is it possible to change it without reinstalling the scheduler service?

The password during install is the one used for the TV Scheduler service itself, over its HTTPS port. So if you want to run the management console from some remote machine on the internet you'd want to connect over HTTPS and supply this username and password.

That's usually the best solution, yes, since XMLTV data contains more details than DVB-EPG data. So you'd turn off the EPG syncing in my TVE3 plugin and you'd copy your guide XML to TV Scheduler's xmltv directory.

Well, the TV Scheduler windows service will process any XML file that is dropped into its xmltv directory, so this is much more flexible than have it point to a single file somewhere. There are people that grab data from different sources, so this makes it much easier for them to do so.

So you see, there's an advantange and disadvantage to almost all choices

But they're not exclusive! Even when pointing to another folder, all xml's that are updated /dropped in THAT one could be processed by the TV Scheduler service, and presto, both needs are catered in one solution!

But TV Scheduler will still move the XML files in that directory to a 'Processed' subdirectory, so it really must own the directory that it is pointed at. This means you couldn't re-use it for, for example, TVE3 anyway. In the end I'm not sure how much more useful it would be to give the user an extra setting for this. Too many settings is evil anyway if you ask me.

And I'd rather spend my time fixing or improving more important issues, like the import/export of schedules from the management console

In case anyone wants to help out and translate Web Access into more languages, here are the latest resource files for all four currently supported languages: Italian, German, Dutch and English.

BTW, you can skip empty XML nodes when translating, just leave them empty.
