freeze/hang when video stops (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I seem to be having a problem with online videos. Youtube plays fine, perfect even, but cinemassacre movies (and some other aswell) act a bit weird.

let me explain:
When I select a video, first it doesn't show me the buffer. the bar in the bottom just isn't there. Then it starts playing just fine untill I either press stop (this results in a freeze of mediaportal ctrl-alt-del then is your only friend) OR It plays untill the end where it makes mediaportal freeze aswell.

Either way, if you play a video,,,your screwed.

Anyone has an idea? would like some help.

Is there enyone who can confirm succesfully playing these videos??
Just click on cinemassacre--> angry video game nerd--> 2004-2006 and then the first video...try to play it twice..
locks my htpc up every time..

Don't know what exactly causes the problem, but if you add player="Internal" to the configuration of cinemassacre (in the onlinevideos.xml) it eventually starts playing that video, but buffering is soooooo slow.

The thing is, the videos from that site are hosted on a number of different servers (screwattack/youtube/blip/giantrealm.com/etc) and I think that just one of those servers is the problematic one (in case of the first video of 2004-2006 (bible games) it's giantrealm.com).

Didn't test if videos of other servers do work with player=Internal, so use it at your own risk.

where can I find this onlinevideos.xml???
I'm kind of just starting to understand all these things

I tried using the windows search but it came up with nothing

I have found it under documentsandsettings/all users/team mediaportal ...is this the right one?? it's named onlinevideosites.xml.
I opend it and it scared the shit out of me where exactly should I put player=internal?? I really am a noob in all this

Nothing to be scared about, it's jus a plain xml-file, and it won't harm you or any other beings in the vicinity

open this in notepad, search for the following line:

    <Site name="Cinemassacre" util="Cinemassacre" agecheck="false" enabled="true" lang="en" lastUpdated="blabla">

and add the player="Internal" right before the ">" like:

    <Site name="Cinemassacre" util="Cinemassacre" agecheck="false" enabled="true" lang="en" lastUpdated="blabla" player="Internal">

And for safety: backup before you change it!

The only downside is that it now takes AGES to buffer like you said..which is kind of strange because when it crashed all the time it buffered in no time. Any ideas why this is happening? It's still buffering as I type this and before the player=internal change it was a matter of seconds.

Since you are dutch. Is there any way you can make the Gamekings and Hardware woensdag - De site waar het elke dag woensdag is sites available on mediaportal??

Bad times after a long wait for the buffer I thought I should watch a whole episode to see what happned.
Guess what. When the video was finnished. MP freezed, just like before. It just hangs on the last frame of the video and that's it. ctrl-alt-del again.....

Can I do anything to make your search for the problem any easier??
