Freeze of tvserver related to Windows update? (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I am running standalone tvserver (1.2.3) on a Windows 2008 R2 machine since several months w/o any problems. Since two days after installing Microsoft's latest bunch of Windows udpate (mostly .NET) the tvserver has some problems.

I can watch TV for several hours w/o any problems etc., but if the tvserver is idling for some minutes/hours it will not respond anymore. I already looked into the log files, but I cannot see any trouble, I can detect my last tuning command etc. It's even impossible to stop the tvserver in service dialogue, I have to kill the process. After starting the tvserver again, I am able to watch TV etc. until I stop watching and tvserver will start idling.

Any idea? Is it possible to start a debug log?

From your description I suspect I know what the problem is already.
Please:
1. Open TV Server configuration.
2. Click "open log directory" in the top left corner.
3. Zip up all the files you find there and post the zip file here.

I tried to use TV this morning and same problem occured, yesterday evening watching TV was possible.

Hi!

I think there is the same Problem at me. I've installed my system before two weeks and everything worked fine. And now (since Saturday), the TV Service dosen't respond after some time. And it is not possible to stop the Service manually. So I have to restart my Server. Than it works as log i watch TV... but after some time in Idle it dosen't work any more...

My OS is WHS 2011 (based on Windows 2008 R2)

Hmmm, strange!

Are there others with same problem? How can we provide further and more detailed information to get rid of this?

This is caused by the idle EPG grabber.

Ahh, thanks for your feedback. I will disable the EPG grabber, but I am wondering that this worked for several weeks.

Seems that disabling the CRC check helped me, I will observe the system in the next days.

Could you make a screenshot from your EPG grabber setting?

I have checked my settings... CRC check was disabled... now I have disabled grabbing while idle... tomorrow I know more....

Hi NSC2001,

here are my settings, EPG only activated for grouped and visible channels.

EDIT: Arrrgh, was too early. Tvserver has stopped working again, I will disable DVB EPG and will use clickfinder.
