I'm running version 1.0 (final release) of MediaPortal on XP SP2 (a fresh Windows installation on a newly formatted drive. Since I installed the final 1.0 version my machine has been completely freezing on an almost daily basis, often when idle - i.e. with the top-level MP menu showing, and nothing playing. I previously had Mediaportal version 0.9.3 running for months without any of these problems.
Has anyone else experienced general instability issues with this release?

Maybe related to the fact that SP3 is required for MP, would need logs to prove this, use the logs collector found in your start menu, work from stage 1 to 3 and upload as per my signature.

Didn't realise Sp3 was a pre-req. Please find logs attached (hopefully - I've never uploaded a file before!)

    Thanks

Could you give us logs showing a lock-up, and not just starting and stopping MP, as the attached logs appear to show?

Sorry - will do. Since the problem usually causes the whole machine to crash, rather than just MP, should I simply execute the third step of the log gathering process immediately after the reboot (and before restarting MP)?

Yes, please do. It might be a good idea to disable the automatic start of MP after reboot.
If the whole machine crashes, then it suggests that it is a driver issue. You might want to take a look at your video drivers.
