The most critical thing to check would be that the card could do good 1080i deinterlacing. Some of the lowest cards can't. I'm not really the best person to give advice about this...Yeah, the WinTV CI isn't particularly ideal as you can only decrypt one channel at once and you can only have one connected to your system. As long as your CAM supports it, DigitalEverywhere tuners are able to decrypt multiple channels from the same transponder. That is why they are recommended. However, they have been known to fail (hardware dies)...Hmm...Okay, what we really need here is consistent results. Either you can always view these channels without problem, or there are sometimes problems. Right now the impression I'm getting is that SD channels always work and any HD channels sometimes work. Apart from EinsFestival HD, are there any other HD channels that always work?So that again confirms that the problem is isolated to the tuner, the tuner driver or CAM. If there is corruption in the stream then it should also be shown in the logs...I've only heard positive things about the 220 and 240, but don't take my word for it - I've only owned 2 video cards, and the NVidia one was a 6600GT. Fair enough about the CAM. I'd feel the same way.I think you're getting closer and closer to proving it is a driver issue... or something about the hardware that can't handle the higher bandwidth.
