Hi,
I am new to MediaPortal and I am pretty sorry for asking such a general question, but I couldn't find the answer yet.

How do I set up an FTP directory as a media source?

If I go to the Add Source area I am only able to choose from the windows network environment. Manually entering "ftp://192.168.2.24" would not work.

Could anybody help?

best regards,
Kevin

    Hi.
How do I set up an FTP directory as a media source?
Recently it's not possible at all. I've asked about FTP (and WebDAV) support more than once, but we haven't found the time to implement it until now. You need to configure SMB recently.

    Hi,
What is SMB? Is there a workaround?
I do not need a mediaportal for just local files....

    Regards.

I already achieved to mount the FTP-Folder with the movies in my Windows environment as a linked Folder, but it would not appear in the "add sources"-list and it cannot be shared for the network.
Probably I will have to dig into the Linux-environment of the receiver... this will take me a while ....
