Synopsis::

I have been using Media Portal for about a week now and I have to say I love it. It is just what I have been looking for.

I have however been having a few problems with it. As I am new to the world of PVR's and TV cards I was not sure if some of my problems were just part of the software.

The first problem is with the windowed mode of the TV section in MP. I can not seem to resize the window. Every time I drag the corners the window just stays the same size. This is anoying as when I am using my computer the windows often covers too much of the screen.
Another problem with this windowed mode is that it does not act as an always on top window, mor of an always switch back to window meaning I can not get more that a click in on a website or word document.

My main bug related prblem is however when the program is switched to fullscreen. Whenever I make the application fullscreen I can not switch back to windowed mode without crashing the application. MP just freezes still fullscreened. After a while of frantically pressing alt+F4 and ctrl+alt+del the program will close and present me with an error log but my taskbar will dissapear as explorer.exe needed to close. This sometimes happens when MP is maximised from the system tray aswell.

Any input of help you could give would be greatly appriciated.

Cheers, Dave.

    Hi, & welcome to the forum

    You should try a SVN in this folder (just grab the latest), there have been much work around that lately.
    How to apply, read the note on the page before you go further

    Thanks for the help ronilse. The SVN fixed the fullscreen changing and the resizing (although it crashed once when I tried to resize it and it won't go below a certain size).

    I still cant use other programs with MP in windowed mode though.

    Cheers, Dave.

    usually mp is designed to be used in fullscreenmode, f.e. like watching tv with mp and doing some other work with windows while doing that...

    it's more thought to be used in fullscreen all the time, that's why you may have problems...

    if i imangine right you can set mp to "always on top" in the configuration (general)

    good luck

    Hi, thanks for your reply, I thought that might be the case. The always on top option was checked in configuration but this was what was causing the problem. I have managed to get around the problem by turni9ng that feature off and downloading a small application which pins any window to be "always on top".

    Cheers, Dave.
