I've been in discussion with Perfect Home Theater about designing an eSATA 5 HDD chassis to match my PHT ITX-2. It would hold up to 5 2.5" HHDs or SSDs of any size... planning for 2.0TB HDDs.

Why didn't you choose Haswell? By the way, Do this Shop has anything on Stock or do they only have EOL products.

$200 USD difference in price ... this is not for gaming, only for MP client

If you are reffering to Newegg, they are pretty current, but will sell EOL and refurb, too, til they are gone. I have waited too long to buy more than a couple products and missed out. Like I said, it took me more than a year to be able to get all the parts, no wonder why some are outdated .

Oh, Sorry. I was reffering to Perfect Home Theater. 200,- $ difference in the same performance category? Why do you think this?

I chose PHT for the enclosure because I liked that particular case design. I just now looked at price comparisons of Haswell, I am surprised. As I said.. I planned this system over a year ago, I just never thought to update the list I put together then. I was looking at mini-ITX mobo and i3 cpu that met the minimum requirements for solid 1080, and since they were still available, I didn't look further. If it had been discontinued I would have probably looked at the Haswell, but at the time, Haswell was too new and expected higher cost.

all the parts are here, it is assembled ... now I discover I am short a monitor cable. I thought I had one here somewhere .... hmmmm

The internal IR receiver is connected between the power switch and the mobo... it's supposed to be able to turn on or wake by using the remote, but I didn't get their remote, so we will see (I have a Harmony 300). I may redirect the power around it.

As soon as I find a monitor cable I will start getting it set up (fingers crossed)

Updated 1.6.0 to 1.7 pre-release, everything seems to be going okay ... a few more days testing and I'll be confident enough to put it in the living room, and bring the larger, single seat/TV-Server box into the office to become a dedicated TV Server/media share.
