Function bar while playing video (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I used to run old svn versions and the control bar (play, pause, ff, stop..) could be displayed while playing a video.
I have no installed v 1.0 RC 2, and it looks like this bar has disappeared... any clue ?
BTW, I also have an X10 remote control and the "VCR" keys don't make any action...
