    Hi guys,

For those of you who are using this tool to fill the EPG, there seems to be a problem with it and you get no new data.
I get a TCP error and on the German part of the forum, there are some similar posts...

A solution from Lehmden was to do the following:
    1) add these entries to your hosts file (Windows\System32\drivers\etc)
    65.55.186.115 data.tvdownload.microsoft.com
    128.177.98.169 cdn.epg.tvdownload.microsoft.com

    2) clean your DNS cache by typing "ipconfig /flushdns" in an elevated command window and retry to grab

Over here, this didn't solve anything.

As I purchased the full version of mc2xml today, I also got this message with it:

Note: If you receive a TCP 124363R error:

Over the past few days/weeks MS has had some server errors at certain times
of the day (or perhaps only certain servers in their round robin).
The MS servers are temporarily overloaded or down but they eventually
work; hopefully they notice and fix it soon. There is a ticket in their system
as it is affecting all Windows Media Center users.

    https://connect.microsoft.com/site1145/feedbackdetail/view/970453

Some have suggested that using the Google DNS (8.8.8.8) can make it
temporarily work as it returns a working server's IP, until MS gets around
to fixing the other servers. If you decide to try this remember to flush
    your DNS cache.

Or you can try temporarily pointing "data.tvdownload.microsoft.com" to
    65.55.5.170 (or 65.55.186.113 or 65.55.186.115) in your system's
HOSTS file (\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts (might require admin
privileges to edit this file)) until mc2xml connects properly and downloads
listings. You should remove this line whenever MS fixes the issue in case
they change IP addresses in the future.

So lets hope ms fixes this soon...

Using Google's DNS fixed it for me. The weird thing is that I have 1 MP Server and 2 clients at home. Only my server has the TCP error.

Also tried google DNS but it seems to have no effect at all for me.
Could it be that you where just lucky to get a reply because I also get some data if I rerun my batch file multiple times.

    Hi.
I've added those three lines to "hosts" file and ever since then I didn't have any issues with mc2xml...
    65.55.5.170 data.tvdownload.microsoft.com
    65.55.186.115 data.tvdownload.microsoft.com
    128.177.98.169 cdn.epg.tvdownload.microsoft.com

But I'm testing with WebGrab+Plus atm. It's a lot slower but delivers much better EPG data at least for Germany. The regular "smart" WebGrab+Plus refresh lasts about 90 minutes for my 50 channels. This will grab full data for today and tomorrow and all that is new / changed since the last run. But with this I got a three weeks EPG and have season and episodes numbers for nearly every series in EPG data... The first run last until eternity but the regular refresh is doable, also I would prefer a much faster solution..

Could it be that this is a difference per ISP and what is cached?

Regarding WebGrab: I also tried this when mc2xml was not working at all last time but then it had serious issues as well so I reverted to mc2xml.
Maybe it's time to dig into it again and see if it works for me now.
