Hello out there!

I've searched a lot across the Forums and there was no answer, where are finally the best places for Timeshift buffers and recorded-tv Files... i've reading more than only one sugesstions, how to use the Drives for optimal performance under Mediaportal..

My Problem ist, that there are sometimes short dropouts while recording something... in Live-TV and/or recorded TV-Files after finished recording ... and i think, it cames from the non-optional using of the HD-Drives

For MediaPortal Version: 1.0.2 w/o svn ... i have the following Question:

I have 2 SATA-HD's in my HTPC... (Drive1 in 2 partitions, Drive2 in 1 Partition) how i use it in the best way?

ATM using of my Drives:

Drive1 - C: System AND Timeshift-buffer
Drive1 - D: recorded TV-Files
Drive2 - E: not used for operational Files

Will it be better to do so:

Drive1 - C: System
Drive1 - D: Timeshift buffer
Drive2 - E: recorded TV-Files

or like this:

Drive1 - C: System
Drive1 - D: not used for operational files
Drive2 - E: Timeshift buffer AND recorded TV-Files

or even in another way?

Maybe a Mediaportal Developer or Pro-User can give me a short sugesstion for that, so i will be very grateful for helping optimize my HTPC...

Sorry for my bad englisch ;-))

thanks in advance
resa

I use D:/Timeshifting (folder) and D:/RecordedTV (folder), as the amount of space taken up by timeshift is so small, it has virtually no effect on the drive :)

ps. keeping on the same drive, also saves system resources.
