Nereus Skin
I'd like to announce a new skin, that is in development since some time: Nereus
It as a clean and fresh design with it's plain grey and turquoise highlights and is planned as new default skin for the next generation of MediaPortal 2.

• Release date: MP2.3
• Public test version: None before release

Main Features:

New Home Menu​

• Vertical main menu, which entries act as direct entry points to the media screens and focus sets the HomeContent

Home Content​

• Quick Shortcuts to sub menu entries or filtered screens
• Quick Media Access depending on meda category

I can announce, that Nereus will be released with MP2.3.
All existing plugins will be compatible. At the moment the implementation of last features is ongoing.

The helpful and popular plugin "AppLauncher" to assign and launch external applications from within MP2 was integrated. It'll be part of the MP2.3 installer after release. A small preview of the Menu Entry and Home Content:

MP2.3 with Nereus skin was just released. This thread is not open for discussion, but updated information.

List of changes for Version 2.3.1 (mostly due to user feedbacks)

• Scrollable Details in InfoScreens (focussed / unfocussed)

• FanArtVisibility setting (0.8 - 1.1, default is 1.0). Higher values = less visibility.
• BackgroundVideo setting reactivated and fixed. You can setup a video as background

• Repaired missing context menu for recording options in FullEPG

MP2.3.1 will contain a configuration option for scrolling incl. the demanded parameters scroll speed and delay:

MP2.4 will contain some visual improvements in the media share configuration screens.

• All content lists have an indicator showing the number of total shares and currently focused item (as known from media screens). This may help in case of longer lists
• Margin alignments to make all screens look similar and white line below headlines
• Share lists have a grid with black frame and better hightlights for focused items (ligther background and bold font)

New visual features for next MP2.4 release: New skin settings to show/hide details for grid and cover views

Great news for next MP2.4 release: The view mode settings are completely reworked and replace skin settings affecting mostly all screens.

• New View Mode settings replace the current simple dialog (List small/medium/large, Grid, Cover)
• Changed settings can be previewed live in the background!
• Every screen can be set up individually and settings are remembered
  • View Mode (List, Grid, Cover)
  • View Size
    • List: Small (no poster), Medium (small poster), Large (large poster)
    • Grid: Poster, Thumbnail, Banner
    • Cover
  • Full Details can be hidden and shown for list, grid and cover views
    • When hidden for large lists, additional infos are shown inside the focus area
    • When hidden for grid, additional infos are shown in the bottom (as for home screen)
  • Watched flags can be set for every screen individually
• New focus background for list views

The coming version 2.4 of MediaPortal 2 will offer also Color Scheme Customisation for Nereus skin
You can selected predefined color schemes in the skin settings and all areas will be affected immediately.
Predefined is the torquoise color setting.
