    Try this one for RC1.

Also added (I think it should work) for 1.2.0 Release (Wait till Monday).

I would like to try this plugin.

As it has been recommended by the MP Team, I would like to install all my plugins using MPEI, so I prefer not to manually install it.

As Keyboard Input Plugin 2.4.2 that appears in MPEI is marked as not compatible with MP 1.2.1, will a compatible version be available soon from within MPEI?

    Thanks.

Please, make this plugin updatable from the extension installer. I haven't been able to update this and would really like to continue using it.

    Hi all,

Based on Deda's work, I have now updated the original SVN sources and created new installer packages. The new MPEI installer package should now be available by updating the package list in MPEI. Please note that I have not thoroughly tested this update yet, so if you have any problems with this update please let me know.

Also note that configuration file paths have been changed. I think the plug-in should pick up any configuration files created or updated by Deda's version; if not you may have to manually move the Keyboard.xml file (from [MP install dir]\defaults\InputDeviceMappings or [MP install dir]\InputDeviceMappings\defaults) to %ProgramData%\Team Mediaportal\Mediaportal\InputDeviceMappings.

    Hello everyone,

Im trying to get my MCE remote clone to work using the keyboardinput plugin but only have limited success and after scouring this forum for hours on end i've all but given up.
    The problem is:
Most of my remote buttons send a keystroke when pressed (as discovered in cmd prompt) so i've had no bother mapping and using 90% of them in mediaportal EXCEPT the back button, start button and volume up and down. When i press these in the plugin nothing happens. I read throughout these forums pages about eventghost so gave that a whirl and absolutely none of my remote buttons are recognised when i press but i noticed the up,down, left, right actually moves the highlighted area around the place. I read a lot in these forums about getting MP to start using the green start button which is also something i'd like to do but the 3rd party trick at the bottom of MP config doesnt work

    Any ideas?

I am a total newb at this remote lark so please be gentle. Im not even sure as to whether im using the right route here or not for my remote, see it came with my australian tuner card and the IR receiver plugs into the card itself via jack pin (i've read most are usb). It looks like an MCE remote and works like an MCE remote in MCE but i want it to work fully in MP!

Im on MP 1.2.1 and plugin version 2.4.3.0.

    Cheers

If nothing happens, then the remote probably does not send keyboard keystrokes. If the affected buttons work in MCE, you should probably use built-in Remote MCE plug-in (at least for these buttons), and Keyboard Input Plugin for all other buttons that dont work.

Thanks I tried that but unfortunately no luck. The volume, back and mute buttons do not do anything at all in MP, they dont show up as a keystroke in cmd nor appear in the keyboardinputplugin. Eventghost doesnt get anything from them either. I wonder how they are sending information at all? seem to work fine in MCE

As a minor victory i sorted out my start button to launch MP using autohotkey, that was fairly easy.

Any other ideas about these strange keys that do nothing?

p.s. the only other strange behavior i noticed when setting up all "working" key stroke buttons was that Live TV and PC power send the same keystroke ctrl+T i believe and i took me a while to realise why MP was shutting down every time i'd press the live tv button. I disabled the Power button in the end
