ok, now I've spent several hours on this already, but I can not find any documentation of how to set up parameters like:
action layer
condition, conproperty
command, cmdproperty

I would really like to know how these work, what to put in as values on these and what to expect as a result.
RSenden, since you wrote the plugin, maybe you can point me to a good link.

Any help will be highly appreciated!!

Would this plugin allow me to specify different keymaps for individual plugins? For example; i want to use a plugin that launches an external media player. Could your keymap plugin detect that the external player has been launched and remap the keys to match a predefined set?

this plugin is great - ive managed to set up all the buttons on my remote except one- the menu button sends win+alt+enter (same as green button mce) but currently this plugin doesnt register the win key.

is there a way of getting it to register the win key since at the moment it just does alt+enter :(

:D

nice plugin, but i have a problem with one Button on my Remote. This Button send the Code 100013. i will use this button to switch between Home and Basic Home. But MP identify this Button also as a ALT-Enter Command, and this toggle between Fullscreen and Window-Mode.
i ve delete the Keymap.xml. is it possible to deactivated this Key-Combination in MP ?

I've been using this a while now and am very pleased with it, thanks...

However I've just recently upgrded to RC1 and have noticed that the following:

When configuring this plugin the 'Add/Remove Buttons' section saves the Keyboard.xml config file to the old location for application data (C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\InputDeviceMappings\custom). The Update Mapping' section however modifies the file in the new location (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\InputDeviceMappings). Hence to add new buttons and configure the mapping I have to first add the buttons, then copy the Keyboard.xml file from the old location to the new locations, and then update the mapping.

I hope this helps anyone having similar trouble.

Hello Everybody,

I haven't been very active in this forum lately, although I'm still using MediaPortal together with my KeyboardInputPlugin daily. It is nice to see that quite a few people are using this plugin, even for remotes that this plugin wasn't originally intended for (I originally created this plug-in for the Asus S-Presso remote).

I'm currently unable to maintain the plug-in due to lack of time and lack of development environment (I switched to Linux on my main PC). So if anybody wants to update the plug-in, for example to work correctly with MP 1.0.0 RC1, Vista, to support additional key mappings (Win-key and such) and solve other problems, please feel free to do so. The source code is included for that reason ;-).

Kind regards,
Ruud Senden.

Hi,

Anyone knows if there is a way of sending a key combination that works outside media portal with this plugin? what I mean is I want to be able to launch a game (I just need to launch an exe file) and a screensaver (marine aquarium). I tried my programs but i just couldnt get it to work, having these two in two buttons that I dont use in the remote would be even better..if I can send, say, alt +F11 I can add that key to the shortcut in windows and launch the exe for example...

thanks for any info!

There is a utility EventGhost, which IIRC works independently of MP. AFAIK, it should allow you to do what you want. A search in the forum here will turn up quite a few references.
