Hi,

I am getting desperate , for the last couple of months I have been having problems with watching TV using the TVServer. I always get the error "Unable to start tV: No Audio/Video" or sometimes "Unable to build graph" . I am pretty busy professionally lately, so I dont have as much time as I would like to tinker round with settings and try out stuff :-(

Now, this happens on my MediaPC thats hooked up to my TV, which hosts the TV Server and MP client. The funny thing is that when I connect to TV Server using my laptop, on the laptop it works and I can watch TV !!

Previous postings here on the forum havent come up with any solutions. My setup is pretty bog standard ?, and new CSV versions have not brought any change to the situation. If anyone can atleast pinpoint the problem or whats going wrong from the logs, than at least I would know where I stand.

I attach a logfile Zip from the testtool for your references, I appreciate any comments !

Thanks

Patrick

hi there, one question, does it ever work on the TV server PC? You say "always" but want to check, just in case.
One thing to look at is the config of the TV client in MP Config. Make sure the IP is correct. Certain TV tuner cards can create a dummy IP or even if you have multiple network cards, MP may assign the wrong one to the plugin.
To be safe, just set it to 127.0.0.1 or something.

I had a similar (but opposite) issue where the other clients couldn't connect but the server PC could. in this case the Server in MP TV Server config had been assigned a TV tuner IP address.
I'm guessing you have the newest version of the TV Client plugin installed? Different versions may not be able to connect to each other.

Also, have you tried the TV Client application? This is just the TV client and can run without MP. It will be good to help test where the error lies and is available in the download section.

Good luck, I know how frustrating these errors can be.

Okay , some more info. I just did a rescan of the channels, and a reboot, after that it worked! But then I did a hibernate and after that again it doesnt work. Error Message comes up: Unable to start timeshift : Unknown error.

So I dont know if these were two separate problems or if they are related ?

    Attached is another log zip.

T500 has never worked with Hibernate\Standby, I use PVRScheduler to overcome this problem by restarting services on resume.

The problem is the drivers are usb based hence slow to resume, by the time TVServer\MP has tried to connect, they have not reinitiliased, hence you get that error.

Thanks for that info, but I have checked in the TVServer Power Scheduler "reinitialise services" option. Isnt that doing the same thing? And does that take effect when I click hibernate in the MP interface , and/or pressing the power button on my MCE remote (also goes to hibernate).

Can you post some more info if PVRscheduler completely gets rid of these problems ?

Powerscheduler is built into MP, so runs only when MP runs (TVServer better, as running all the time but still locked onto drivers).

PVR-Scheduler releases these processes prior to shutdown\standby so allowing the drivers to restart correctly before restarting either MP or TVServer service, so no errors.

Also MCEStandby Tool (ignore name works with XP) has some nifty little features like shutdown\restarting MP after standby as well, but overall nowhere near as good as PVRS.
