Hello all,

third attempt to install MP within the last 3 months, different versions, same result. The program installed just fine but I can't run MP or MP Configuration. Vista keeps complaining about Data Execution Protection (DEP) and closes the program. I bought this machine 4 months ago and it works like a charm. It would be nice if I could get MP working.

Yes I installed the software as Administrator
Yes I tried to add MP as an exception for DEP but Vista replies it can't turn off DEP for this program ;-(
Yes the install did not report any problem.
Yes it fails in both modes, Advanced and Normal

When it loads, it fails right after saying Adding filters sections in the splash screen.

I read the system requirements and Vista 64 should run on Vista 64 SP1 (GeneralRequirements/OperatingSystems - MediaPortal Manual Documentation)

I found a couple of posts with this problem but no one replied. It looks like it has never been tested under Vista 64 bits. Anyone knows what's going on?!?!?!?

:D

My OS: Windows Vista Home Premium SP1, 64 bits
My memory: 6 GB
Processor: Intel Core i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67 GHz 2.67 GHz
TV Tuner Card: ATI Wonder HD650 (I tried with a Hauppauge, same result so it does not matter)

Using VISTA 64 bit Home Professional and Windows 7 64bit RTM (even UAC is on ;) ) here, and no such issue when installing latest MediaPortal stable nor with the 1.1.0 Alpha release.

I am using Vista Ultimate running 32 bit. I have the exact same DEP problem you reported last year. Did you ever get MP to run on your machine? If yes, please share how you fixed this problem. Thanks.
