Hi Guys,

I have noticed that when watching a HD channel, instead of have black bars top & bottom, for some reason they are green. I have the latest ati drivers installed along with coreavc as the hd decoder.

Any ideas why my bars are green instead of black?

Thanks

Steven

    Hi Steven

I think my suspicions would be centred around the video card driver and codecs. Codecs are easiest to test, so I'd be trying other codecs first. I'd also be trying to rule out whether hardware acceleration was a factor by turning it off and on in the codec settings (I think Cyberlink and CoreAVC at least have such a setting, and FFDShow has the "plain" codec and the DxVA codec). If all codecs behave the same under all scenarios then try reverting to Catalyst 11.4 or earlier. ATI have had a run of bad drivers recently which have caused grief for quite a few people in our community...

PS: It is not so cool to post a thread in the support forum and delete the system specification template and not provide logs. Okay so logs might not be so helpful in this case, but we could at least confirm that the codec that you expected was being used and check the DirectX information for your system. I'd be okay with deleting the template if the specs in your profile were complete, but they're not (in particular, CPU missing). A screenshot of "visual" issue like this is also an excellent idea. *Please* - help us by sticking to the support forum rules (ie. provide logs and complete your profile or fill in the template).
