Greetings! I am new to Mediaportal and am looking for some general help in making bitstream audio work. I have installed the latest version of MP and all seems to work well with one minor issue. Using the default decoders (MPC) i can play back movies (VOB's) without any difficulty but the audio, acording to my receiver, is PCM. If I switch the decoders to the Microsoft decoders
that are present from the default MP install, my receiver will display dolby digital and everything appears to be working. However,
if I press any button the MCE remote, the playback seizes and the computer hangs and requires a power down to recover. Looked through the forums and this seems to be unique to my setup. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

SOLVED: Well, more accurately, worked around. Turns out MP has sounds associtaed with remote buttons during DVD playback as a default. Disabling these sounds allowed for proper playback. A suggestion for an MP improvement would be a way to disable these sounds with one click instead of having to disable them one by one. I suspect the problem is really with the drivers for the HT Omega Stryker sound card so I tried to reference drivers provided by the chipset manufacturer (C-Media Electronics, Inc.) but they appear to be the same.
