Harmony One remote issues (1 Viewer)

I have finally got my Harmony One configured with my Silverstone LC16M (iMon) machine and for the most part it works great. I do have one small issue that hopefully someone has a solution for.

Quite often when I press a button, it appears that the button command is executed twice. So if I am watching a movie and press the pause button, you see the movie pause for a brief moment and then unpause. Likewise, when I press the escape button and I am a few levels into something, the escape sequence is execute twice and I find myself all the way back to the main menu.

Is this an issue with my remote, iMon, MediaPortal or just my configuration?

Hi.
It looks like the malfunction with the "Fake"-MCE Remote. There's the same "doublefeature". I use the Hamrony One as a MCE-Remote and it works great ...

It's a common occurance with these PC remotes. I am using Gyro's "MCE" remote with their patented air mouse technology. I had configured my remote as a general HID device, and most of the buttons are working fine except the record button.

I guess I should have said that my PC is using iMon so I configured the remote as a SoundGraph remote, not an MCE remote. I created this thread from work so I do not have access to my remote at the moment, but it seems to me that some issues stem around some timing or latency settings using the Logitech remote configuration software. I will probably research that more when I get home, but in the mean time maybe this additional information will ring a bell for someone here.

I had a Harmony remote a long time ago but gave up on it because it didn't work the way I intended it would. Changing the delay response and using single key press didn't help either. Anyways, have you contacted Logitech's tech support?

Here's something you can try. It's also posted in the Wiki.

Run regedit and go to the registry key below:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HidIr\Remotes\745a17a0-74d3-11d0-b6fe-00a0c90f57da]

Change the value for "EnableDebounce" to 0.

Change the value for "EnableDebounce" to 0.

Thanks Joe, but I don't have that registry entry. Is it specific to the Harmony, SoundGraph or something else? Just trying to determine if I can just add the key.

If I'm correct, your Logitech Harmony remote is emulating a "MCE" remote by design. It sends 2 different codes to your system in response to a key press. So, unless you have an OS with MCE installed or not, the registry fix will not work. The fix supposedly makes the system respond to only of the codes sent.

When I setup the Harmony to control my HTPC, I was able to select SoundGraph as a hardware type. MCE was another option that was available, but Logitech appears to support iMon directly so I don't think the Harmony is emulating an MCE remote.

I hadn't got around to trying the original iMon Pad remote until last night and I can now confirm that the iMon remote works perfectly. This leads me to believe that the problem is either the Harmony itself or the programming. If I find a resolution I will post it here for others to find.
