hauppage wintv usb "suported" HELP PLEASE!! (1 Viewer)

Hi,

i have a hauppage wintv usb card that is suposed to be suported by media portal //see link// but when I try to set it up in mediaportal setup I get a: "no video capture(s) card found, you wont be able to configure a capture card"
I am using the latest drivers for the card (V: 2.62) and mediaportal 0.2.02

I also have a lifeview flyvideo 2000 that used to work in previous versions of mediaportal but now gives me the same warning as the other card

i would apresiate any help, i have search the forums an I havent find a real answer for this card, also in the cards page in the wiki(suported) there are several comments about it not working

at least if it doesnt work take it out of the suported card list so I can stop torturing myself trying to make it work

at first i couldnt get mediaportal to recognize my card so I folow a hint from another tread, and create a WinTV USB Definition in the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml, (I duplicate the data for the hauppauge wintv usb card from the list and change the card name in capturename from "hauppauge wintv usb pro" to "hauppauge wintv usb" and change the divice ID to the one I got from the system´s device manager )


now the mediaportal setup recognizes the card but I get a "unable to create graph fot this device!!! warning

I am stuck

ps: the card works perfectly in it own program

Usually that error is caused by a missing mpeg2 encoder. Youll most likely need to install WinDVR (I think hauppauge offers a SoftPVR but not totally sure).

Another log with you trying to tune the card would be good.

I have tried with another user to get a USB2 version going and had absolutely no luck. Not sure if its the same problem but these cards seem to have something really wrong with them (these cards in general seem to have more problem posts than other cards)

Same problem and then I assume the first error is something like reference not set to a vaid argument or similar, which was the same thing that occurred with the other users card.

@ callifo, I know that the card´s second name is trouble, but it really makes me mad to think that the card (both cards, my flyvideo2000 also) used to work in previous release candidates of mediaportal, I give up on the flyvideo, but the wintv usb is still listed as suported, so in my mind there has to be a way...or at least someone that got it working.......

and this is the modified file I made, taking out the word pro out of the name and changing the card ID number(card found, unable to create graph) , I would supose the next problem is in the pin numbers but I dont know from were to take the data to fill it correctly.

Hi,

MP doesn't work with the newest drivers. I installed older drivers and it works again. I got the older drivers from: http://www.hauppauge.tv/sup/support_pvrusb2.php (dutch site)

Support for the new drivers should be made my the developers (i don't know if they know the drivers are changed)

old drivers

@ el conejo, thanks but those drivers are for the usb2 and I am trying to use the wintv USB card(I also tryed using the old driver for my card and i got nothing),
I have search for other cards in my city(somewhere in south america) and I have only found some genius, lifeview(old ones), and a bunch of other cards that are not suported by MP..........maybe I should give up, I isntalled "got all media" and it found both my cards...but its not the same as MP and I cant get the EPG to work there
