I used to have a PVR-500 on a 1.3 multi seat setup.
Lately I have switched to 2 Colossus cards.
I have connected the video through Component cable.
Now if I use pin 8 - That is Audio Line In 1 - the relevant channel seams fine, but if i try to use pin 9 - that is SPDIF2 with my TOSLINK cable, the moment i switch to the relevant channel, the video hang's or getters extremely.
This behavior happens on all of my MePo clients.
Is this a known issue, or do I have to post log files for someone to address my problem?

It isn't one that I'm aware of.

You should always post log files if you want someone to attempt to address your problem, regardless of if it is a known issue or not.

Thanks for that... but I'm going to need simultaneous logs from your TV Server system if you're using a multi-seat setup:
    1. Open TV Server configuration.
    2. Click "open log directory" in the top left corner.
    3. Zip up the files you find there.
    4. Post/attach the zip file here.
    In the meantime...

You have unusual things happening with codecs on that system.
In fact, it doesn't look like you've actually configured the TV codec settings, meaning random codecs are being used.
Take a look here and try setting all to LAV:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...nfiguration/9_Codecs_and_Renderer/1_TV_Codecs
... then make sure to click OK to close MP configuration.

The other point to mention would be that the fact that you're using multi-seat (ie. RTSP streaming) can cause exactly these sorts of problems.
Have you tried to test with MP on the server, rather than on a separate client?

I have attached the server log files.
My client TV codecs are all set to LAV.
I currently don't have a mePo client installed on my server. I prefer no to install the client there, but if the log files won't help, I will.

    Hello again Arik

I have attached the server log files.
    Thanks :)
Everything looks reasonably ship-shape on the server side.

My client TV codecs are all set to LAV.
Well, that is confusing. I said what I said because this is what I'm seeing in your config file:
    <section name="mytv">

...and this is what I see in your TsReader log file:

Something is *not* right there. If you've set all your TV (note there is a separate tab specifically for TV codecs) to LAV then why is the MS one referenced in your log files, and why is nothing other than the AAC audio filter specified in your config file?

Please check and double check again.

I currently don't have a mePo client installed on my server. I prefer no to install the client there, but if the log files won't help, I will.
It would really help with debugging!

    One additional comment for you:

What is actually coming in on that S/PDIF / Toslink cable?
Should that be AC3/DD, or is it LPCM being encoded by the Colossus to AAC?

So the problem here is in the client, not the server?

I ask this because my clients are all XBMC, in windows installations, and I have the same issues mentioned here when switching from an AAC channel to a DD channel.

EDIT: It's even more complicated, since my XBMC clients don't access MP TVServer directly. They are connected to an ArgusTV installation that uses MP TVServer just for the Analog channels. What logs should I bring here?

What I was trying to say to you is that the codec that you're using for "playing" TV (LAV by the sounds of it) is not able to handle changes between AAC and AC3/DD gracefully. So when you change from a channel with AAC audio to a channel with AC3/DD, LAV throws a fit.

    mm1352000,

I see what you meant but it looks like the problem I'm having is with the recording itself. I haven't even gotten to playing the TS files in MP yet or changing channels. When I use preview in the TV Server config application I get no sound. For some reason When Colossus is used there is no sound whatsoever on any channel. All these channels work with the HD PVR right now. These same channels use to work with both cards perfectly on Windows 7. Both card work perfectly in showbiz right now so it's not a hardware issue. The logs don't seem to throw any errors. I'm at a lost....

Should we ask hauppague for a free HD-PVR2 unit, we have a pretty big user base.
I guess we could... but I think that would be somewhat unnecessary.
To give you some idea of what I'm thinking...
If the HD-PVR 2 is anything like the Colossus (which I suspect it will be), the only change required will be one extra check here:
    https://github.com/MediaPortal/Medi...rary/Implementations/TvCardCollection.cs#L124

Literally all I need to know is the name of the crossbar filter.
    This could be it:
    http://forum.videohelp.com/attachments/17067-1365003778/cap Hauppvr2.JPG

    Just want to double check.
In summary, if all goes well adding support could take less than one minute. ;)

I have recently purchased the HD-PVR2 and would be happy to test it with MediaPortal and report back. I tried to install the most recent Mediaportal build and it did not "find" the HD-PVR2 device. I am running it on a Win 7 32-bit installation. thank you.
