Having a few issues trying to get TV in to Media portal TV Server using a Hauppauge HD-PVR, I can see the card, but it cant see any channels (which would makes sence) Is there a way to have media portal just see the one channel that is being captured on the box? I did spend a good 30 mins reading posts and look around, but couldnt find any anything that related to me.

The box is capuring a signal, its coming from a Virgin HD Box and im using the latest builds of all drivers and software on windows XP.

Hope someone can help

Thanks :)

When you scanned for channels in the TV server configuration it should only pick up the one channel from the Virgin HD Box, that channel will then be mapped to the card in TV server. Try the preview in the channel tab in the TV server configuration. When you turn on MP go to TV and click TV on and you should be on that channel as you only have the one channel.

Hmm I tryed that, but i am getting a problem where the capture card keeps getting locked by another application.. maybe thats my issue.. ill have a look in to it.. thanks for poiting me in that direction :)

Edit: Ok, got the TV capture working perfectly in Arcsoft capture module, but I still cannot find a channel when scanning. I have it set to Cable in the MP TV setup, I have a signal level of 100% and Signal Quality of 100%. Any ideas?

Edit 2:Manaually created a channel and mapped it to the card, I have sound but no picture.. getting better...

Edit 3: Still cant get a channel using media portal, only sound.

Edit 4: Installed Sage TV, and it works fine on there. I'd rather use Media Portal tho, as its a nicer interface.

Sound and no picture would indicate to me that there is a problem with the video decoder being used in MP, in MP configuration click on television and see which H.264 video decoder is being used.
Unfortunately i am not running HD so don't know which decoder should be used but the proper decoder seems to be installed on your system as it works with Sage TV maybe you could run GraphEdit to see which decoder works.
