I have spent a day trying to figure out how to tune TV on MediaPortal... but just when I was getting closer, I have found out that MediaPortal can't detect my Hauppauge HVR-2200 tv card


This is what happens:

I open the "MediaPortal - Configuration" and navigate to 'Television' -> 'Capture Card' -> 'Add'

A message box then pops up, telling me

"No video capture card(s) were found, you won't be able to configure a capture card"

My TV card is working fine in VISTA Windows Media Center.

I uninstalled the driver software, and reinstalled. But I still get the message.


I have found many comments on the net of people successfully using MEDIA PORTAL with the Hauppauge HVR-2200... and it's listed as compatible with Vista. So I have no idea what's going on.



Have I done anything wrong? Is there anything I can do?

Hi, and welcome to the fourm.

I did a search, and it seems like ppl are geting the HVR-2200 card working, so it should work.
