Synopsis::

I have problem getting live tv as well as recording tv to work, I have no problems getting my tvcard to work with the standard hauppauge program or gbpvr. But the live tv is way too choppy, slows down and plays catch up. Even the recording does get affectd the same way. even when not displaying the live tv as I record.

Please help! What kind of video decoder skould i use? In gbpvr I have it set to system default, that works well. But there is no such option in MP.

Hi everybody,

I'm new to MP and this is actually my first post.

I've set up MP so that everything works well, besides live TV. As ManLord had pointed out the quality is bad and the whole system slows down remarkably, almost like using a capture card with MPEG2 SW-encoder.
Can anyone help me with this question? I've installed the latest drivers for my capture card (haven't installed the software which comes with it though - is that necessary?
In the TV settings in MediaPortal Configuration I've set MPV for MPEG2 playback (the only other option was ffdshow, which is not good for MPEG2 from what I've heard).
Would I get another decoder if I actually installed the software which came with the capture card?

Many thanks for your help and the great software!!!

My system specs:
CPU: Intel Celeron 2,7 GHz
RAM: 768
Graphics: Intel Extreme Graphics 2
OS: WinXP Pro SP3
MP version: 1.0RC2
TV-Card: Hauppauge PVR USB2
