Hauppauge remote only works in WinTV (1 Viewer)

I, too am having challenges with getting my Hauppauge MCE remote to work. It can pause and play and that's it. Did you find a solution or give up on this remote?

never got it to work well with MP. I switched to WinTV 8 and was using it as my PVR until Direct TV put some type of encoding on the broad cast that prevents me from watching anything in HD. So until I can find a answer for that issue I'm without a PVR

I cut the cord on cable and satellite. I get plenty of HD programming from major networks OTA.
