Hi all,

in the CVS from 7. Jan. I found the enhanced setting for Hauppauge remote. I guess this is due to the double click problem that some of us have.

I guess mPod has had some sleepless nights ... thank you very much mPod

But still ... I have problems ... or I don't get it ...

I have been changing all of the sliders of the new settings dialogue in different combinations and I have been trying the "filter double clicks".

-> absolutely NO REACTION. :shock:

The remote stays in all settings with the same 'speed'. When I click one time in 33% of all tries I have 'double clicks'.

Anybody any idea?
Anybody the same problems?

thanks+regards

    Hi,

yes, I am having the same problems. Using latest CVS with my Hauppauge 45 button remote connected to the PVR 150.

The reaction of the remote is now very fast! Thats nice, but I also get many double clicks. This can easily be tested even in the main menu. If I highlight the second entry and scroll up, the highlightning always jumps two entries.

Changing the sliders in the setup does not have any effect.

I just got the latest sources and had a try.
Seems to me that the key release time can't be set big enough
    in the config application.
Edit the mediaportalXML and change the HCWButtonRelease to
    something like 500 or so.

For me this made the scroll timing functions to kick in.
I think this value is very different for different remotes.
How often they send that a key is pressed is not very hard specified.
(The remote hardware is made as cheap as possible, and values on the components etc that affects this might be different or have wide tolerance)

Start with a high value and reduce rather than the opposite.

    Imagine following scenario:
User presses an holds DOWN ARROW to scroll a few entries in the menu.
The delay before first repeatition of DOWN ARROW is set by "repeat filter".
The speed of the repetitions when scrolling is set by "repeat speed"

User releases the DOWN ARROW, and then presses DOWN ARROW again.
if The button release time has expired, MP will accept this as a new keypress, and thereby have a longer delay before first repetition.
If button release time has not expired, MP will handle this keypress as if it's a key held down, and keep it scrolling fast.

So, the release time is the time a button has to be released before it is pressed again, in order to make MP handle repetitions and delays properly.

The minimum value for the release time is set by how often the remote sends keypresses to the computer. On my PVR250 with a silver remote it is about 200-250ms between each sending. To be able to miss one sent keypress, I usually set this to 500ms. (my remote is sensitive to direction, and needs to be pointed to the HTPC)

    working!

    Hi all,

I installed the CVS from yesterday (15.1.) and the new dialogue works now!!

    NO DOUBLECLICKS :D :D :D

Weird: according to the changelog there was NO CHANGE in the 'Hauppage remote section' since the last CVS I tried and the CVS from yesterday  Maybe a combination of other changes ...

Many thanks to mPod + Bosso!!

    thanks+regards

mPod changed the limiting values for the release time 3 days ago. Maybe he did not write that small change in the changelog. I've added info about the settings in the wiki manual. I am not sure about the functionality for the "Keep control" settings. Feel free to add description for these if you know more than me.
