Any help here would be much appreciated. I am having issues getting the Hauppauge remote which comes with the Nova-T-500 to work with Mediaportal under Windows 7.

I have installed the latest drivers which come with the Wintv7_cd_2.1a from Hauppauge and then installed the IR32.exe from my installation CD. Mediaportal recognises the driver is installed but it does not work and hcwhelper crashes (hcwhelper has stopped working) every time I close Mediaportal or Mediaportal Configuration.

Anyone had any experience with this? Thanks.

Thanks, not to sure how to troubleshoot this.

I have completely uninstalled the remote and run hcwclean to remove all the drivers and reinstalled with just the drives from the driver only pack, which has made no difference.

I have noticed that the card (Nova-T-500) is in the device manager as 'Nova-DT FW Downloader' This used to display 'Nova-T ...... (+IR)' I have tried uninstalling the card and rebooting but Windows keeps seeing it as a Nova-DT with no mention of IR, not sure if this is has any relevance? I know the remote and sensor works as I have tested it with MythTV in Linux.

Any suggestions are welcomed.

This seem to be a Happuage problem as I can not get the remote working at all in Windows 7.

    Works fine here with a Nova-TD and latest IRSS (Win7 x64).

    EDIT: using "wintv7_cd_1.3c.exe" driver package.

    Thanks Chemelli, my problem is all sorted now. Could not fine the fault but tested the card in another computer and it worked fine so I did a full system reinstall and now it works.

    eagle, the downloads can be found on the Hauppauge site if you click on support and then select your product. You only need the Win v7 software if you want to use it, if you just want it to use MediaPortal then just download the drivers and install the IR32.exe from the CD

    @both

    thanks for your help, but I managed it to get it working :) Sometimes the problem is sitting between chair-back and computer-monitor. I reinstalled all components and now it works. Must have done a mistake at the first time

    Thx again.
