    Just some info:-

I upgraded WinTV7/drivers to 2.2b and got the problem. Rolled back to 1.3 (CD with device) and it's fine.

That is an interesting observation. Just installed 2.2b, which is working with WinTV but not MP :(
Will try rolling back as you recommend.

Here's my INI file which you can also try (c:\windows\).............you need a properly configured INI before it will work in MP.

I had to rename to .txt in order to attach here, rename the file .ini

    Hi,

I've recently run into the same issue as described in the first post. I've got a Nova-T-500 which works fine with Media Center and on Linux, so the device is fine.

I downloaded the IR32 package from another thread mentioned on here (v2.49) which allowed the arrow keys, OK button and numbers to work with MP but not any of the other buttons. The "HCWHelper: Can't open IR device" message was in the log.

Noticed that the version of IR32 on Hauppauge's site is larger than the one I already had, so downloaded it. Currently its at v2.66. Removing the old driver and installing the new one allowed all the buttons to start working - so maybe worth a try for anyone else that ends up bashing their head against the wall with this!

    Hope this helps someone (eventually).

PS. Thanks for the great app - seems so much faster than Windows Media Center, and easier for me to pick exactly the plugins I'd like to install (and not the ones Microsoft seems to think I want!).
