Simple post the tv.log for one.
Secondly, let me know the driver revision for the WinTV CI device
And finally the revision of the device. (Look underneath)
OK - I've attached the tv.log file. The WinTV CI module is 11000 LF Rev A2.
The driver file for the WinTV CI is version 3.5.0.1 dated 22/8/07.
In the test I've just performed I used an expired sky card that decodes Channel 5 and Channel 4 HD in DVBViewer. For this test I tuned to BBC HD and then Channel 5.
What other recommendations are there (if any)?
E.g. what type(s) of tuner/model number/driver combinations?
Can't find any reqs list here and I wasn't aware of the fact that a beta driver for the CI module was recommended for usage with MP.
There are quite a lot of dependencies to get Hauppauge's stuff working right.
For instance: I finally managed to get MCE working with a Hauppauge Nova T-Stick with the new MCE CI plugin Hauppauge released some time ago. But when I bought my T-Stick, I received one with model# 70001. The new plugin and the latest drivers only support MCE integration when the T-Stick has model# 70009 or 70019.
Fortunately for me, Hauppauge was so kind to trade my #70001 for a #70019, so I got everything working eventually. Also, this Hauppauge MCE CI plugin only supports the CI module versioned 'Rev A2', still quite a lot of ppl have a 'Rev A1' version.
I can imagine such dependencies also exist for MP, so a little more clarification or a link to reqs could solve quite a lot of hassle, posts and bugreports.
Got to add to this that I prefer MP far, far more above MCE, so if I can get it to work, I would switch immediately..
Generally speaking I find Hauppauge hardware rarely works with the software that's bundled up with it. Each time I've bought Hauppauge cards and boxes I download the latest drivers and use those instead. This time the Win TV CI module worked first time for me in DVBViewer but obviously not in MP until the recommended driver was installed.
Can confirm your last observation too, rlogue. With the recommended driver, I got the CI-module to work with my T-Stick as well.
My point was: DMAN said "as per our recommendations"; I can't find any related to the CI-Module, so I was wondering where they might be... maybe I'm missing more (allthough it seems to work now )
