Haven't done that. I use my DirecTV DVR to record satelite channels and MP for my OTA. I'm guessing you want to save a couple o' bucks by recording the S-video (yuck -- 800x600 analog) output via MP. As I understand it, you have to establish each as an external channel back there in the TV Channels section of the Configuration. Each would use the s-video input as it's source, but each would have a seperate entry -- I don't think MP can perform such an external scan like what you'd need. READ the text on that External tab about IR blaster, etc. Assuming you have to establish each of those external channels, pick a handful that you'd want to record and see how it works. And, if you find there is an automated scan... report back! The reason I suspect NOT is that a scan is performed at the Capture Card level, not the TV Channels level. Oh... I DID get the A/V input "working" in the sense that I can tune to a single channel (had no need to create but one) which passes the A/V input to my display whereby I can then Timeshift or schedule MP to record. I'm not doing anything to allow the Hauppauge to generate any IR-Blaster commands. I simply use the IR-Blaster to listen to my 45-key remote to control MP via a remote, allowing me to place the wireless keyboard/mouse on the table and use the (more convienent) remote. Many people have had issue getting the analog portion of their tuner cards working. I'm among them in that my ATi is still incapable of tuning anything Analog. I was trying to post that the 1600 works quite well for ALL of its capability: ATSC, NTSC & A/V, and its remote is a HUGE bonus which really improves the user-friendliness of MP.
