Hi all,
i m the happy owner of one hava titanium HD device (slingbox clone), that delivers a video good quality, and also standalont e recording feature on local USB, and also a built in UPNP server.

the bad, was that MP didnt work at all.

Finally i resolved to have a look to MP codes, and to fix the issue.

The attached patch to MP, enables Hava Local stream to be nicely integrated in MP (live, timeshift, epg recording... i havent tried re-streaming but it should work)

Installation steps:
- the latest hava drivers are installed, and the Hava local player works
- make sure the MP tvengine version you have is the 1.0.2 (latest stable)
- stop tvservice from the services control panel
- in (programs)/team-mediaportal/MediaPortal Tvserver backup the tvlibrary.dll
- copy the attached tvlibrary.dll into (programs)/team-mediaportal/MediaPortal Tvserver
- restart tvservice from the services control panel
- start MP tvsetup
- in tv-cards, locate the 'Analog Hava Video Tvtuner', and in the settings force the video standard to NTCS or PAL.
- in tv-channels add one new analog channel like 'HAVA Local', and define your country, setup input mode to Antenna, and setup your input pin to CVBS1 (composite), or YRYBY1 (component)
- go to tv-mappings and allocate 'HAVA local' to the 'Hava Video' card.
- you can try to preview the channel, it should work
- close the tvsetup..

Next steps:
- support of hava remote tvtuner (mpeg4 stream instead of MPEG2)
- port to 1.1.0 RC1 when released (may be it would work by itself..)

Followed your directions and it worked first time! I am running Windows 7 RC build 7100 with the new Win7 only version 1.8.1.39 HAVA software and the corresponding 272.325-32 HAVA firmware.

In reading the HAVA manual for setting up with MCE they describe using the HAVA IR blaster to control your set top box and only using the MCE IR to receive remote commands. Apparently the HAVA software can detect channel changes requests from MCE and blast the appropriate IR command. Is this possible with your MP TVLibary or do you have to use something like IRSS with a non HAVA IR blaster?

good news.

concerning the IR control you have 2 options:
- control your stb trough MP and a blaster (like microsoft), using IR server suite for example (this is the setup i ve chosen, and it works perfectly)
- control your stb trough the Hava, and its intregrated blaster.

but seeing the way the channel change logic works, i dont think that the hava would trigger a channel change trough its own blaster..the sure solution would to use an additional program like the havafun tools, to force the channel change in the hava blaster.. should be pretty easy since this is a command line tool.

i need to check to which extent i could integrate this havafun library into the MP library i have modified.

regards

I also have a USB-UIRT which is supported by IRSS but unfortunately it can't learn some commands from one of my devices. The HAVA blaster does learn the device commands so I am thinking of using IRSS and its ability to execute any command line. I am aware of Havafun, I have been testing it with learned commands and posting in the HAVA forum under the same user name as this forum.

I would love to get better insight into how you built the Library.

I want to try this for a Slingbox.

I have some basic libaries (open source) that allow the Sling to be remotely controlled and would like to mimic your approach as I think it might be possible to make the Sling stream be an virtual tuner source.

morinhe1,

My HAVA continues to work well with your tvlibrary and Havafun to change channels. Have you submitted a patch so that your changes can get incorporated into future MP releases?

Dear all,

In Morinhe guideline, he says "copy the attached tvlibrary.dll into (programs)/team-mediaportal/MediaPortal Tvserver
"

I don't see any attached file... could you please tell me how to get it?

Thanks,

Jean-Frederic

Unfortunately morinhe1 did not include the source code for his changes. Only the dll was attached to his original post. This goes against the open source license that MP uses. I guess this is the reason the attachment was removed from his post. morinhe1 has not returned to the forum this year and did not respond to my PM/e-mail.

His modified dll works well with MP Server 1.02 but does not work with MP 1.1. I have a copy of the dll if you need it.
