Having Problems with DVD directories in 4.2.6 (1 Viewer)

Hi ORPhD,

Yes, I did not have to change things from what I had said in my first post to get it to work - I just needed the updated version of the pluggin zebons posted here, which I believe has been wrapped into an offical "4.2.6a" release.

In my case, for my 200 or so movies, I DID need to adjust directory names on probably 30% anyway, since I was not perfect in my naming vs title of the films (i.e. "star_wars_4_A_new_hope" vs "star_wars_eppisode_iv_a_new_hope" sort of things). I would make sure you are testing on one where the title EXACTLY matches the directory name. If your drives are network mounted, it will take a very long time to find the movie the first time, going over 100mb it takes me about 60-90 seconds the first time to find a movie.

What is your symptom? the "nothing happens", is that just hanging in the plugin screen, or is it going to a black screen like the movie is playing, but zero length. The zero length movie thing is what I get if it wound up "finding" an invalid file.

Good luck, I will help if I can...

cyberquixote,

Well, I just decided to go ahead and bite the bullet and enter all the paths in manually :p Actually, once I got a system worked out, it ended up not being too terribly time consuming, especially since I did it as I was simultaneously working on replenishing 400GB of rips that I lost anyway.

"Doing nothing" for me was (surprisingly for computer use) just that: it was if I had never pressed the Enter key to select play at all. No black screen, and I could instantly hit ESC to go to the previous screen (something that, in my experience, is typically not possible in MP if it's thinking about anything).

In any case, I'm trying to think about how one could go about handling our (very common) directory structure in a fully automated and possibly streamlined and efficient process. This was one major strength of XLobby while I used it. I'm gonna ponder this issue and see what I can come up with.

Seems I need some help here. I can't get anything to play, just get "insert disk"... . Using latest SVn and DVD Profiler 3.1. My setup is about the same as cyberquixote. Any help is appreciated.:D

    Nevermind I fixed it...user error.
