think I've read that post.. I also read that you don't need the IR program that comes with the hauppauge software. I have since disabled that fom loading

That's only a icon, the hauppauge ir driver is still loaded, so it will work.

    Hi,

I have two PVR (150/350) and no problems with the remote.....but I had the crash once. There is a trick with installing the correct drivers. Unfortunately the post with the tipp has gone. Perhpas I can get it together again, how it can be solved, but this will take a while. Cause I do not have much time currantly...

    Flip.

Just to add, I stopped the IR thing from loading which eliminated the HCWhelper crash. I enabled the Hauppauge blaster (duh-huh) plugin now I can change channels. I also am running the absolute latest drivers from hauppauge 3.4D1.

Isn't 4.0 the latest hauppauge driver?

@FlipGer, could really use that solution you have...

I have a PVR-150 and the fille I downloaded said CD version 3.4D1.

What I did was this once I found what I should disable and turn on. I've done a fresh install to confirm this works for me.

    1. Fresh load of XP
    2. installed all my hardware drivers including the hauppauge drivers.
    3. installed media portal v.0.2.2.0
    4. Setup the blastercfg from hauppauge
    4. Stopped the Hauppauge ir.exe from loading
    5. configured mediaportal, enabled the Hauppauge blaster plugin
    6. Launched mediaportal and everything works including the blaster.

Wow I uninstalled the ir.exe software and the crash has stopped. Really stupid problem by Haupaugge IMO.
Have HVR-900 and HVR-2200 working fine now.
Havent been able to get the remote working but I'll figure that out in due course
