Hi everybody!

I got a problem with some small shuttering watching SKY HD and Blu Ray every few seconds!
But now I figured something out:
I configured MP to autostart with windows in fullscreen mode.
And the first action I execute is without any shuttering!
So for example if MP starts up and I select to watch TV and SKY HD is the channel that switches on, then everything is just fine!
The same with Blu Ray!
But if there is any action between so e.g. I watch TV and then Blu Ray... then there is the shuttering!

Does anybody have a solution for that kind of problems??

Best regards
Markus

Hi again,

Seems as if it's not correct that there is no shuttering within the first playback...
I do have shuttering there, too :(

I made a screenshot of my graphs.
Hope there's anybody out there who knows what's the matter with them?!

EDIT: I forgot to tell you something... Yesterday I recorded some live TV in SD and HD.
But I am not able to play the files!! Neither MP nor VLC nor MPC plays them and also Graphstudio can't open them!!
What's the matter with my system??

Best regards
Markus

    AW: HD live TV shuttering!

Why do you use a 60hz refresh rate? Dont know much about those graphs so cant really tell.

You could use graphedit to check ihe used codecs. Maybe something changes there?
Maybe logs can tell you more.

Set your screen refresh rate on 50Hz (your tv channels are also in 50 Hz)
You can also use the "dynamic refresh rate" in the mediaportal config.

Yes, use the dynamic refresh rate but with the good dshowhelper dll ;-)

    Install 12noon Display Changer
Write "50.cmd" script and fill with something like this :
    @"C:\Program Files\12noon Display Changer\dc.exe" -monitor="\\.\DISPLAY1" -depth=32 -width=1920 -height=1080 -refresh=50 -quiet
Same for others refreshs, put the sripts in MP directory and fill the MP refresh rate setup

    AND

    use this DLL : https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...nter-dshowhelper-community-development-81148/

TV is perfect for me (I use the NVIDIA HDMI as output, power DVD10 as codec, ffdshow for sound without passthrue)

    For video, all on ffdshow

    Hey guys!

    Thanks for your replies!
I tried a lot these days and guess it's really a problem with the refresh rate!
I manually set the framerate of my projector in win to 50hz but MP still shows 60hz!
But the projector definitelly runs in 50hz mode cause it shows a 50hz source at the info screen.
    So I don't knows wether it's a win or a MP problem...
I also tried the 12noon DC but doesn't get it to work properly :(
MP always hangs up when I fill in the action in the I.R.C :(
But all in all after changing the win refresh rate to 50hz and using the alternate v37 dshowhelper playing h.264 became a lot smoother and I got less shuttering.
Anything I could try to fix the 60hz problem?

    Best regards
    Markus

    Hi technick,

    Thanks for your reply again!
I tried a lot these days and I got almost mad but there's no way to stop the shuttering!!
I do use two displays, too. So I tried to get it to work like you described in your last post without sucess :(
Now I unplugged my 7" screen with the effect that MP now shows the correct framerates!
    But there's still the shuttering!!
There's shuttering whenever h.264 is played doesn't matter if it's HD TV or records (made with my Dreambox 800) or Blu Rays!
So it's definitelly no problem with bad signal or something like that :(
Sometimes the whole MP freezes when I watch h.264!!

I also figured out that there is shuttering and freezers when I play my recorded files (h.264 with MP not Dreambox!!) on my PC using VLC!
But there's absolutely no shuttering when playing the Dreambox records and Blu Rays etc with VLC!

    Here are some new screens:

So obviously the actual framerate collapses when there is shuttering.

I tried the alternate dshowhelper.dlls (v20, v37) and also the audiorenderer which I am using at the moment...
I use SAF5beta with PDVD10 codecs (shuttering with every codecs of the others, too)...
    Graphstudio shows a correct graph

Perhaps it's a problem with my config?!

    Any ideas??
Just goin' crazy with this crap!!

    Best regards
    Markus
