I'd like to capture from my DirecTV box via HDMI (through a hdmi stripper I already own).
I've found comparison of V1 vs Colossus but not much comparing Colossus to V2.
My first instinct would be the HDPVR2 because it is USB thinking it may be easier to install. Plus it is external so I would hope to have less to worry about w/r to overheating. It would also be easier to setup a second one someday since I may not have enough PCIe slots for another.
However, I see that the HDPVR2 is not officially supported whereas the Colossus IS. I've read over on the SageTV board that the Colossus is more "buggy" than the HDPVR2. However, I don't know if that's a sage specific issue. Another issue is that I prefer to have minimal internal devices in my HTPC to reduce the need for more cooling fans.
I'd greatly appreciate any advice from users of both to help me make my decision.
