Hi,
I have just installed the new MP 1.0 final release (doing a clean install). My HDHomeRun tuners still do not work. I was under the impression that this would be fix in this release. Am I missing something? The HDHomeRun tuners show up in the tvserver configuration, but when I scan the channels no channels are found, My hauppaugh cards find channels OK..

Thanks for any help!!!

Try this fix for HDHR

Go into HDHR set up and re-install BOTH sets of BDA drivers. Restart & try scanning for channels again.

Thanks, but still having problems

myriad,
I did as you suggested. ReInstalled both of the drivers and restarted the computer.. When I rescanned using the HDHR it did not fall through as before, but it did not find any channels. Also when I disabled the other tuners the HDHR did not play or record any channels. The HDHR does play channels with its own application... So, i know the HDHR is working on its own...

Any more suggestion would be greatly appreciated!!!

myriad, thanks for your suggestion....

I am in the same boat as farmertom. I can scan channels and watch them with the HDHomeRun setup utility but can't get MediaPortal to find any channels when scanning. I just got an HDHomeRun and can't even use the darn thing!

Still not working?

Hi,
Yes, I have done all I can do to get my HDHomeRun working..Downloaded and installed the latest HDHomeRun software, reinstalled both sets of BDA drivers using the HDHomeRun setup program. I have also used regsvr32 to register the BDA driver located in the HDHomeRun directory, I have correctly copied the xml snipit from the Silicon Dust webpage into the capaturecardDefinitions.xml file. I have reinstalled MP 1.0.. I have disable the other two tuners ... all with no effect on the HDHomeRun operation. This is not the order in which iI did all these things, some were performed many times.

HAVE I MISSED SOMETHING?

Tomorrow I am going to install MP1.0 on my laptop (with no other turners) and see if i can get my HDHomeRun working on that.

Anybody got any ideas?

Farmertom have you had a chance to try it on your laptop?

I'm still trying to figure this thing out. I also have a Hauppauge card in the system. Removing it didn't help. I've used other programs (SageTV trial for example) and can scan/watch with no problems. I've done the same things as farmertom and still no progress.

Still not working?

Hi callworth,
I have been having a few unrelated problems that keep me from completing my installation.
To status my efforts, I have installed my HDHR on both my Vista and XP laptops. I can view tv with no problems. I do have a some kind of hardware problem with my ethernet cable/ socket as I get intermitten "cable unpluged" messages on my XP machine. Not on my Vista machine.
I have also been having problems configuring TVserver as I am having problems getting access to the microsoft database. (this should be easier).
I have gotten a little burned out on this and have decided to take a break from this. I try to get away from my computers at least two hours a day.. ;)
Bottom line is that I have not tried scanning the HDHR with Media Portal.

I will give a status when I get back to this in a day or two.. Good luck with your installation. Let me know if you find out anything on this.

Farmertom, Thanks for the update. I was able to install MediaPortal on my laptop with the HDHomerun as the only tuner/input device installed. It worked but that leaves me without the ability to watch any of my cable channels (only the local broadcast channels are of course available through clear QAM thanks to Comcast) that I get through my Hauppauge card and STB. So I'm now stuck with an HDHomerun that I can't use. It's very depressing :(

Last night I was able to get it working! I did a fresh install of MediaPortal 1.0 and installed the latest (20081231) HDHR software and firmware. Completed the scan in HDHR Setup and then was able to do a successful channel scan in MediaPortal TV Server Configuration with it set to QAM Standard. I had to weed through 130 channels to find the unencrypted ones but that I handle :)
