I've gotten through scanning channels on my HDHomeRun Prime. However, when I try to preview channels it fails with the message Unknown Error.

This is on a Win8.1 box using MP1.6 fresh install. LAV codecs installed and configured per default settings.

Just out of curiosity, do you know what functionality was needed that the earlier HDHomeRun Prime drivers didn't have?

It isn't so much a case of functionality they didn't have as bugs they had.

The latest stable firmware just released (20140121) should work out of the box.

There is one bug I'm aware of in particular with the previous stable firmware (20130328). In technical terms: the RTP format in the RTSP DESCRIBE response does not match the format specified in the headers of the streamed RTP packets. This is the cause of the "unknown error" message you saw. As far as I know, everything else works.

In previous versions (eg. 20130107) there were other issues with RTSP. I'm not sure of the exact technical details.

[edit: If you're wanting to avoid a firmware update for whatever reason, the patch to make the PRIME work with 20130328 is a one liner [in third party code] which I could release to you if you ask nicely... :) ]

Thanks, upgrading to the latest released firmware did the trick. I've got some more questions and issues to resolve, but I'll post them in separate threads.
