HDMI audio 720p vs 1080p (1 Viewer)

I'm using the HDMI connection from my video card, to my receiver. When I play a 720p MKV file with a DTS audio track the receiver sees that it's a DTS signal but when I play a 1080p MKV file that has a DTS audio track the video plays perfectly but the audio is extreme broken up. For every 5 seconds of video I get a blip of sound.

In the codec and renderer section under MPC - MPA Decoder I have spdif selected only for the simple fact that there isn't anything for HDMI passthrough. I guess I could install a sound card with optical out but to me that seems point less because of the HDMI. For codecs all I have installed is coreavc and halii media splitter.

My ultimate goal is to just pass the DTS signal along to my receiver and let it do all the work. But I get the feeling that MP isn't allowing that to happen or I haven't tweaked the right setting.

*** Well that will teach me from posting late at night and before testing more than just a few movie files. It looks like the movies that I'm having issues with were not encoded correctly. I have others with the same specs and they work just fine. ***

I can't really say why it won't work, but I suggest you use SAF(Search the forums) and FFDShow, on the install choose to enable spdif/HDMI. This setup works perfectly on my rig. Have a good day.

***So I installed SAF and the files I was having a problem with now work. But now I have an issue with files that have DTS-HD audio tracks, they don't play at all. Is there some sort of setting that I'm missing?

I dont think that the GF210 can handle DTS-HD... the new Intel Sandy Cridge CPU's with HD Graphics are able to handle DTS-HD

Your probably right Josch.hh, now that I think about the age of the card that would make sense. No big deal though, I'll just strip out the dts core.
